When are you willing to get more involved at the local/state level? When are you willing to write your Congressman/Senator?

SGM (Join to see), they say all politics is local, and I would add personal. When it comes to the topic of veterans benefits - especially health care - and taking those benefits away or threatening to take them away ... Well, that just fuels my coals! And I'll get on the horn, sign petitions, write letters. I have done that a lot for those "promised" benefits. They touch me personally, so I'm highly motivated to get politically engaged.

I'm always writing them to support VA benefits. Don't want them to forget us especially since only one out of the four of them has served.

Education VA benefits and Employment issues. Suggestive ways to address the pay issues regarding the Post 911 GI Bill, the main reason being some service members like my husband went months in the beginning of his degree without the VA paying the school. I have seen a declination in employment opportunities for service members that have been deployed as well. The issue I would want to address is how we can alleviate stigma towards those of us who have multiple deployments that don’t have PTSD.
