This may be an unpopular opinion, but veterans should be treated no differently than the other civilians who never served. Everyone should have an equal chance to re-negotiate their terms with the bank

SPC Cody Bernardy, you do realize that some veterans are called away from their civilian job that pays considerably more than military pay? How does one make up for the difference in pay? The creditors don't reduce the monthly payments on your bills just because you honor your commitment to the military.

So you don't feel exceptions should be made that allow veterans to rework their mortgage payments in order to keep their home! Man, that's cold!!!

I misunderstood your question.. I thought you meant a SM/veteran was falling behind on payments already. There should definitely be a program if the SM has no other choice

I think its real shitty that this happened. Especially since the banks got their bailout for putting the country in the mess that it is in since 2008. None of them saw any consequences with the whole default swap. You would think that this would have qualified for the HAMP restructuring. It sucks everyone other than the service member got to make out like bandits while we did our job over there. You would think that our country would prevent this. They don't. It does not side of the isle the politicians the majority frankly don't give a shit.

Have you thought putting together one of those petitions online and putting this on Reddit.

Hopefully someone could get the attention of the news media. Who knows.
