What are your reactions to the Mayweather vs McGregor fight?

McGregor was gassed early, but gave it a good 10 rounds. Surprised he lasted that long actually. Will we ever see Floyd in the Octagon? ;)

After all that hype, I totally agree! Conner's game is to get in your head early and hope emotions get the best of you. Floyd was a technition tonight. Didn't let anything distract him from the mission.

of all the Mayweather fights that I have seen, I think this might have been on of his better performances. Conner needs way more conditioning, after about the 6th round I could tell he was done. Does he have a future in boxing, that remains unseen right now, best for him to stick to the octagon. I was however pleased overall with the fight.

My reaction? Being an MMA fan, it went exactly as I expected it to.

No, of course Mayweather won't go to the Octagon. With all of Mayweather's arrogance, he was apparently the only one of the two that was aware of their physical/technical limitations (given the extremely short time-line), which is why he didn't issue a challenge to take on McGregor in the Octagon in the first place. Must have been the age difference.

If McGregor had challenged a boxing "nobody", he likely would have fared much better. However, he tried to jump in at the top of a different sport. Oh well, the hype netted them a ridiculous payday...

I knew Mayweather was going to win, as much of a Mcgregor fan that I am I could honestly tell where the odds were going with this one. 49-0 boxer about to retire will not retire 49-1 lol. They're both highly skilled fighters and are amazing athletes.

Like you, I was stunned that McGregor lasted that long. I'd actually decided not to do the PPV thing, because I was expecting a 2-3 round fight.

No it would be idiotic for Floyd to go UFC, unless he's guaranteed half a billion plus, and has money issues. Mc had lasted better than I expected, I surely believed he would tire out by the 5th or 6th round. Oh well I'd take a few semi punches for 100 mill.

I'm not a huge boxing/MMA fan. I've just never really "gotten" it. But I will tune in for the bigger fights when it's convenient. For this one, my neighbor got the PPV and invited me over. So as a complete boxing novice, I thought it was a good fight. McGregor's style looked a lot different from what I was used to seeing and it seemingly took Mayweather some time to figure it out. Either that or Mayweather was saving himself for alter rounds. Either way it worked. By around the 7th round even I could tell that McGregor wasn't going to make it. I didn't think the ref should have called it that soon but doing so only delayed the inevitable. Overall I enjoyed it but wouldn't have spent money to watch it and probably won't spend money to watch the next one.
