I was reading other topics and notice one referenced Battlefield promotions. I know they had Battlefield promotion back in WW2 and what not and I thought it was discontinued. Did a google search and see where it was restarted back in 2009 but nothing further. I was wondering what all goes into selection/criteria for Battlefield promotions. For example I am a SPC currently deployed serving as a NCOIC E-7 billet. I was handpicked over my peers and 2 SSG to deploy with my CW3 while the rest remain on rear-D. Is that enough alone or what all goes into a Battlefield promotions? Is it just for combat arms or everybody? Just for clarification so I’m not taken the wrong way I’m not out looking to receive a Battlefield promotion, I’m just looking to educate myself on something I didn’t know was still around.

I’ve wondered the same thing! I know it used to happen in the past world wars and maybe Vietnam but I haven’t heard of them happening more recently. That’s a really good question. I’m going to try and do some research on that.
