Also schools are out for the summer which would be the best time for families to kove without interrupting the school year. Always good for command in that area to make sure to be aware of Heat Cats. Always humid this time of year, it may behoove the command to possibly change the venue. The umpteen rehearsals on the parade field were worse than the actual thing. People dropping left and right with fixed bayonets at sling arms and everyone around breaking formation so they don't get slashed by a wayward bayonet as their buddy crashes to the ground. My partner and I's in coming CoC/CoR (I didn't do an out going one) lasted about 15 minutes. We bet on who could give the shortest speech. I had more people present to thank so I lost with a speech of something like 1:15. Then there are others who seem to just like to hear their own voice. It was only a 1 star but I have stood in those formations at Knox and Jackson for what seemed like an eternaty. Loved that aviation unit. My command just had a CoC for our CG (CoR in May for the CSM), and it was a steamy day. Rehearsal day was the worst. Hot weather plus CSM's everywhere, haha... But there is something nice about seeing it all come together and giving the command team their due, especially when they truly deserve it.
