It all depends on who your audience is and what the quality of the SWAG is. I would give out lanyards for days, but kids would stop taking them because they were made so cheap. They much rather preferred the Marines lanyards. I think if you were able to personalize the spinners a bit (ex. engrave the name, unit, year, or just something specific to retention in general such as &quot;This we&#39;ll defend&quot;) Soldiers may be more interested in keeping them as they would keep a coin. These kids love these things. A lot of people have ADHD and it’s useful for them, myself included. Others are just following a trend and it works for us. But with that being said over the last 2 years I’ve enlisted around 20 or so in my small area and I’ve never had the necessity of giving these out. RPI’s are great for table display presentations and catching someone’s eye. Besides that it’s not a fundamental resource.
