What are your thoughts on the French raids and closure of mosques?

Following the attacks in Paris, France has raided and closed mosques in France.
Should the US and the rest of the world follow suite?

Considering the evidence found, it seems the French are tired of being reactive in nature, this is not a condemnation of all practitioners of the religion. The French went after underground prayer centers and mosques that were under suspicion because of other information.

Once a building is no longer a house of worship, and is in fact a training base and armory, it and the people involved should be investigated and arrested like any other criminal.

It doesn't mention it in the linked article but other news articles that I read tonight said that they also found 324 guns during the raids. Guns, ammo and boxes of ISIS propaganda doesn't sound much like a house of worship to me or at least one that should be allowed to continue to operate.

While France is not always perceived as a country of strength, they are on the front of fighting terrorism in Africa (former colonies of course) and have taken measures to protect their homeland without necessarily dealing with the political niceties or correctness that other countries encounter. This is not meant as an approval or disapproval, just an observation which makes it more of a humble opinion.

I think we should remember that as with water the path of least resistance will likely be the route most will go. This is not to say we should have knee jerk reaction but we shouldn't leave ourselves open to harm. The problem is that we don't know where or when it will come next. The French didn't close down all the mosques, so they must have uncovered information regarding some activity at those which were closed down. Does closing the mosque make intelligence gathering harder? Driving them into other areas?

THey are doing what they think they have to do to protect their citizens. Unlike our government who are too worried about upsetting people and groups.

I it shows they are fed up and have had enough, they are becoming a harder target by being aggressive by weeding out any possible terrorist cells.

The French are also rounding up many of these militants, getting them off the streets should help too. Maybe just a change of tone from one of tolerance/inference to one of get along or get out...

I think it is a positive sign LTC (Join to see) of calling a spade a spade. The French have been taking in refugees from predominantly Muslim states such Algeria, Iran, Mali, and now Syria. The shifting politics of France has for the u=time being enabled a government that seems to be serious about going to the root of the terrorist problem namely the mosques where wahhabi islam is preached and terrorism nurtured.
I hope the UK and the USA follow suit in terms of closing down those mosques that are hotbeds of terrorism within our respective nations.
