What are your thoughts on the military asking the militias to stop guarding recruiting centers?

As I stated in the thread started by RallyPoint Shared Content, there is no clear solution to the immediate, 50 meter threat. Having militas stand armed outside of recruiting stations is a great idea but in practice can be very bad. To me, its like throwing gas on the fire hoping it will stay under control.

I with them - the "military" can ask them to go away, but they can do as they wish. Heck - if they want to be there and help - more power to them!

It is embarrassing that we have come to the point that armed civilians feel the need to protect our unarmed soldiers.

As a practical matter, the civilians would simply be the first targets in the event of another attack, leaving the unarmed soldiers pretty much the way they are now.

If I wasn't tied down as primary care giver to my wife I'd go put in a few hours every day myself....
And I don't consider myself untrained nor an amateur.

I have mixed feelings. While I am grateful for their efforts, it is our job to protect them, not the other way around.

I truly understand all the thoughts about these members and militia standing guard, but shouldn't someone protect these soft targets? In our AO we have retired Marines protecting some of the recruiting offices. Our response is to leave the offices immediately. I get why...we don't know if they are crazy or a friendly, but at least someone is stepping up to serve again. I am not talking about Tea Party nut jobs as someone in another thread either. I am talking about a diverse group of individuals that wear their retired Marine hat and take their oath seriously.

I think it is stupid. Let the militias guard over our boys. There is nothing wrong with it. They aren't hurting anyone, and they are doing what the militia has been doing for over 200 years. They are guarding their homeland.
