What are your thoughts on those who have a sense of entitlement? How do you deal with them?

I call them out on it. Today a lady jumped the line at the bus. I stopped and told her there was a line, and pointed at everyone behind me. Didn't do anything as she still cut it, but generally I let people know they aren't the only one in the universe.

I don't remember the details, but in civilian attire, I've had fellow Service Members in uniform try to do similar at food or other establishments, I do the same as above, and remind them they never know who is watching.

We all all products of our core values and beliefs. Those individuals that feel their entitled where raised in that manner. I listen to what they say and ask open ended questions. Then I provide them with a different perspective. Assertive communication is the way I handle difference's of opinion's.

I thought "entitlement" meant a legacy ride into Harvard and a good job at Daddy's Wall Street firm.

Dealing with them is one of the most mentally draining things I do.
Most of the time at work I try to grin and bear it.
In life outside work I often allow them the privilege of learning my point of view. Sometimes lined up with my hand's front sight post (middle finger).

My thoughts are..."What is wrong with their brain to make them feel entitled about anything?" People that feel entitled are those that don't get a lot of respect.

I have a family member who once said she was a princess and that her husband needed to treat her like a queen. After I swallowed my vomiting, I told her to "Look around for a castle....don't see one? Better get some self respect and go work some overtime to buy everything you are entitled to!"

Narcissists have a grandiose sense of self-importance and entitlement, crave admiration and attention. When you stop stroking their ego or beg to disagree, they can turn on you and become punishing. When it gets to that point, be warned, my words "slice like a ninja, cut like a razor blade". It wasn't to long ago I had to put someone in there place, oh the agony.

I've know people in the military do it. Your rank, your badges, your cool beret doesn't continue into civilian life. It’s over and overnight you go from Joe Cool to Joe Bag-O-Donuts when it is. No has to give you respect or recognize your authority. It’s just like starting over, so once again, check your attitude at the door.

Sometimes I just feel like saying listen.... "I have been through way too much sh*t in my life to deal with your ignorance, stupidity, close mindedness, attitude, immaturity, and and sense of false entitlement! So get away from me before I put you to sleep on this block I've been around a hundred times!"...oh wait I do saying something close to that..

My thoughts on entitlement are, "The world ows you noithing!". Get over yourself". The Bible says,"It is better to wait to be invited to the head of the table. Others may come with more authority/rank and you maybe asked to move" (Para phrased). The world doesn't owe any of us anything. The one entitlement that everyone shares is freedom.

What was wrong with the OD ball cap? You could stick the bill in your belt (behind your back) and it didn't suffer much, and it kept the sun out of our eyes, sorta'. Rain, too, a bit.
Why wear a 'continental' headgear at all? Ballcaps say "U.S." to me! Maybe a bearskin busby? Chromed helmet with a horsehair 'mohawk'? Don't go back the to pillbox marine cap, tho, even if Elvis wore one! Just sayin' -- while I still have time!

First off, I think the word entitlement is misused. I am entitled to my military retirement. i am entitled to my VA disability. I am entitled to my Social Security..
