They exist because sometimes it necessary to clarify how the executive branch will carry out its duties of enforcing the laws of the land. However sometimes they are abused as part of government over reach by the executive branch trying to create an imperial Presidency. I felt that the Obama administration over reached quite a bit, and was aided by the press. <br /><br />So far, I do not think the Trump administration has over reached. But I am glad we have an adversarial press once again. Things would be great if we just had an intellectually honest press. Certainly the most recent one on immigration restrictions should have gone via Congress and been debated. Understood why the Executive Order easing up on Obamacare avoided the Congress and I am fine with that one just going through the White House. Obamacare replacement should go through Congress though and be voted on. However, we are seeing a lot of this because Obama set the precedent on this crap and the follow-on Republican regime is taking advantage of the past precedent. I suspect some of the orders are fine and some will be shot down by the courts. What remains to be seen is if Trump will honor or ignore decisions of the judiciary as there are some rumblings that he may not. There are 11 Presidential Memoranda, all giving direction to agencies in the executive branch. Finally, there is one Presidential Proclamation, which is a one off thing that doesn&#39;t extend beyond the one week that&#39;s proclaimed... <br /><br />Given the above, I feel that we now have an individual in the Oval Office that understands how the process works and is using it as it should be used. I had my reservations leading up to the inauguration, but since then I&#39;ve been feeling better about him taking the reigns. <br /><br />My concerns are directly related to all of the yahoos out there rioting and committing crimes. He is tearing down the human rights of people in this country, he is creating opportunities to destroy private lands because he has vested interests in certain types of companies that are being prevented from operating on those private lands.
