What Army careers are co-located with Navy units? https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/what-army-careers-are-co-located-with-navy-units <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>One of the items on my career bucket list has always been being assigned to a Navy ship for a 6-mos tour (at least when I was single). I thought it would be a fantastic experience to see what its like to live/work at sea and to better understand our sea-going brothers. I am curious if anyone knows of a career field, or a good example of something like this that is occurring today? I don't count units co-working like those working in the detention centers overseas or in a joint headquarters, but actually Army Soldier(s) assigned to a Navy element as their PCS assignment. The only career field I know of that is routinely assigned to Navy bases would be veterinary food inspectors and animal care specialists. I had a recruiting company in the San Diego area, and the only Soldiers I knew of in the area (besides Guard, Reserve, and ROTC) were veterinary food inspectors (the Army is responsible to inspect all food consumed in DoD to include commissaries and exchanges) and animal care specialists at the MCAS Miramar vet clinic. I was on a fast stores ship and we had one Army Sgt that served as food inspector because the Navy does not have an equivalent.
