What ASI would you Chemical SM rather have L3 or L6?

I have just recently got my P status, I'm going to BLC in July, and they are also letting me go to an ASI right after BLC. Which one would you choose for career enhancement and why? Needing some guidance. I'm having to make a decision soon and I'd like some help from anyone that's been to the courses or anyone that's been in for a minute and has career progression advice in regards for certain ASI to take. Any help would be very appreciated. Thanks.

L6. It's more transferable to the civilian sector if you go that route. There systems that L6 uses that L4 and Styker units use in the contracting world.

I agree with SFC Randy Purham . If you been to choose, go L6. It will benefit you more in the long run

Between L3 and L6, I'd go with L3 cuz before the actual class you get certified in CBRN First Responder which is pre req so that's two in one...

If you were National Guard and part of a civil response, CST or similar, then I think Tech Escort is more valuable for you. But for active duty, recon might be fun. I suspect that you would find more recon platoons in the active duty side and having L6 will give you more options.

Why not do both?

Do they still have L4 &L5? It's depends on what focus you want to take when you get your Tango Identifier. UAV is a great option as well. I enjoyed the trading with Air side of the house.

If you can make a contact thru TF Troy Counter IED they can direct you for UAV. Not a lot of us women last I knew. If you can pitch a base ball (50 min push-ups) .....enjoy remotely controlled similar to Artillery Survey

I would go with technical escort. In my opinion that is where the real CBRN work is done. You actually handle live agents and do response missions. I never did recon, but I don't think there are many opportunities to deploy and actually do that mission set. It's likely you will do what everyone else in a Stryker Brigade does. So if you are looking for career opportunities after the Army, I think Tech Escort translates more to the civilian sector and you have the job satisfaction of actually doing CBRN work.

It depends on what you want to do with your military career. L6 has its advantages but so does L3. While in the military, you have the opportunity to be in a technical escort company or SOF units like the CRD. L6 would do you no good in a CRD. Also, the opportunity to do assignments at DTRA would help you with the L3 identifier. In the civilian sector, L6 may have its benefits but so does L3. A lot of states and even at the federal level wants one that has hazmat experience which L3 will provide. Again, just my opinion.

L3 is a much better option than L6. L3 lost Ace accreditation;however, when it transferred from Redstone Arsenal to FLW. L6 is worth 3 college credits through ACE. ASI "R" is the best option (Civil Support Skills Course). It is L3 on steroids and worth 13 College credits. Ace: In the lower-division baccalaureate/associate degree category, 4 semester hours in emergency response operations, 2 in chemistry of hazardous materials, 2 in radiation biology, 2 in biological science, and 3 in incident management (8/14)(8/14).

Been awhile bnoc pmdc hopefully you can get all the courses one at a time.
