Eglin for me as well. Stationed there for 10 years though. Awesome work, great place. Lived in Niceville and on base.
I really wanted Kadena or Guam as well, but no luck.

Anywhere in Germany would have been nice if I had stayed AD longer. Got to go there TDY in the Guard and realized how nice it was.

Loved my stay in Eglin, loved Florida in general. I was supposed to go to Germany but was reclassed before that could happen.

Always wanted Aviano, IT. It was impossible in my career field. I got lucky though, and after I got out, my husband got picked up for an assignment here by surprise! I think my next on the list would be Alaska, since I'm a pretty big fan of the great outdoors!

Thee USS Robinson was scheduled to return (with the Enterprise) to San Diego via Australia. At the last minute the orders were changed and steamed straight across with a dumpy oiler. No stop in Pearl. I am still angry with the Navy and that was '69!
The highlight of the trip across the Pacific was when someone came up with the bright idea of having a sailor from each ship trade jobs for the day. One of my fellow IC man was selected. They rigged up the Boatswains chair. Tommy got in and was being hauled across when the ships both rolled in ward and he got dunked.

I was very fortunate. My first base was Eglin, my second was Monkey Mountain RVN, and my final base was Homestead. Great assignments all, but Eglin was perhaps the best.

I was lucky... I got Eglin, Patrick, Buckley...then hell in DC. They punished me for the first three gifts. I wanted Europe, but didn't get it.

I would have liked to have been stationed in Hawaii. But, an assignment in Japan, Guam or Alaska would have been awesome.

I was stationed at Eglin from 91-94 on the 33rd side. Then i was stationed at RAF Lakenheath. Both were great. My Tech school was Lowrey AFB Denver Colorado and that was also awesome! Before joining I was a dependent at RAF Upper Heyford with the F-111's. My dad did 2 consecutive overseas long tours which meant we we there from 1981 to 1991. I miss that place...
