Was stuck a unit 5 years and picked up SGT at year 4....recieved an NCOER, and stayed 3 more months before leaving to reclass my MOS. Last unit did alot of TDYs and my leadership changed as I was leaving, long story short left with 3 months of unrated time. Tried reaching out numerous times while leaving and during the reclass but to no avail.

Any advise? How bad will this effect me in the long run?

3 months of unrated time as a SGT is not significant.

Why didn't you receive a change of rater? How were you authorized to PCS without a change of rater?

The unit was all about doing "Letters of Continuity"...when I PCSed the unit had gone to the field, and my 1st line was TDY in the middle of nowhere, and the people of senior rank had just been shuffled elsewhere a month prior.

SGT (Join to see) - I'm no longer an expert but SFC (P) Palmer Utley might know if this is a possibility better than I, is your new leadership able to just do an extended annual?

SGT (Join to see) - I believe it is 623-3, check the rater/senior rater minimum qualification. Reviewers If I remember correctly, don't have a qualifying period.

Your next NCOER will have 3 months non-rated time on it. As a newer SGT, having non-rated time is not a big deal.
