What can I do to fight for a Soldier that busts tape 1 day shy of a 12 month period?

Soldier was on ABCP and got off and has a knee injury but medical claims that it cannot hinder him from losing weight but he is on a permanent profile and can do only limited PRT. The AAA 168 says the Effective removal date of the flag was 2 March and he was taped after quarantine from COVID on the 1st of March a day shy of a year

Profile, surgery, none of it is an excuse. There are literally thousands of Soldiers with medical issues not failing tape. The lesson learned for you is “the time to become concerned fornanSoldier health and welfare is always, not just when they are in jeopardy.
I am not blaming you for everything, but NCO’s are responsible for their Soldiers. Someone should have been monitoring this Soldier. Everyone knew he was due to be taped. He will a likely take his slumps on the outside, you need to have learned several lessons from this.

How much did they bust tape by? About the only thing you can do is work with the Soldier to lose the weight and inches to pass tape. The Commander is required to submit a packet for chapter once a Soldier fails twice in a 12 month period. Doesn't mean the Commander can't (try to) yank it back if the Soldier shows a passing tape prior to the packet being completely processed.

SGM (Join to see)
SGT(P) (Join to see) - Over by 3% is a lot.
It means he would still be over the limit by 1% in the next higher age group.
It also means that he didn't just exceed the limit "1 day shy of 12 months", 3% means he has been over the limit for months prior to the test.
Failing tape again within a year of ABCP means the commander is required by reg to submit the packet.
You didn't mention anything else, like "this Soldier is outstanding in every other aspect except for ABCP."
If the Soldier is worth salvaging, then it's worth it for him to come back in six months after he is separated.

Medical isn't "claiming" anything, they are merely stating what AR 600-9 and science says.
Weight loss and body composition are much more about what you eat than what you do.
