I am looking as for information such as: Will I be housed with the initial entry Sailors? What can I expect from a typical day at A School? Etc. Thank you in advance for the information and insight! You will probably learn Navy history, Shore patrol tactics, and generally how the Navy does things. All military police operate under the Uniform Code of Military Justice, but some of the procedures and policy can be as different as a Mule from a Zebra! Lol! You will probably learn how to conduct a Captain's Mast, Courts-Martials and how to be a cop on a ship, and items of this nature. You'll be staying in one of the hotels there unless you really want to stay in the barracks. Currently, liberty is pretty limited because some of the new recruits did some stupid stuff a few months back and got everyone's liberty taken, but yours should be unaffected. The school is really easy, pretty straightforward stuff. Most of the instructors are Chiefs and really helpful for anything you may struggle with. It's just the most basic aspects of the job, there's "C" schools for the more specific jobs like MWD or Corrections. Classes are easy. The instructors glorify the hell out of the rate. Other than that, it's easy. Study for the test, show up on time, and you'll do just fine. I am at a Joint command now (which really means Army) and seeing how the other half lives is eye opening.
Be prepared to get OC sprayed unless you have a certification from being sprayed before. If you were not an MP, then the MA school should offer you a lot. One of the big differences between Army MP and Navy MAs is that as a senior Petty Officer or Chief Petty Officer, you could stand the chance of independent duty where you are the ONLY police officer for the command. You really have to good at nearly every facet of law enforcement and security.
