Just like any NCOES school there is plenty to do and a lot to absorb. Stay focused and be prepared. The welcome letter from the school house, or ATRRS course scope should give you a solid start.Response by MSG Private RallyPoint Member made Feb 8 at 2021 10:03 AM2021-02-08T10:03:17-05:002021-02-08T10:03:17-05:001SG Michael Anthony Gonzales6729702

Yo Soldier ... Obviously you’re doing the right things being a Staff Sgt.

Keep picking up Leadership guidance from good Leaders that “Leads The Way” ... and learn to “take charge”with Responsibility. You’ll fall down once in awhile, but get up, dust yourself off, learn from what just happened.

The Corporate World is the same. Don’t give up; might need to take one step back, but keep your sights looking forward and always “think outside the box”.

You’ll meet many type of Leaders but you’ll be able to determine the ones
with BS (and you probably have).

If you’re waking up every morning, Life
is good. Keep having fun and do your job the right way.

Hooah.Response by 1SG Michael Anthony Gonzales made Feb 8 at 2021 11:16 AM2021-02-08T11:16:34-05:002021-02-08T11:16:34-05:00SFC Private RallyPoint Member6733841

Prepare to be academically and physically challenged. Formations, classes, PT, community projects, and the most important - group interactions. You'll be doing discussion boards, writing an essay, as well as carrying out some leadership roles, just like in ALC. You'll be treated as an adult, I mean professionally and ethically. Prepare on how to write an essay according to APA standard, as well as be ready for multiple inspections, ASU, barracks room etc...Being a part of the group is very important due to peer evaluations in the beginning and in the end of the course, which will have impact to your overall grade. So clear your head, stay fit, brush up on Army regs and you'll be acing it. At least I have experienced this when I went through SLC at Ft. Rucker, AL, SLC for 42 series at Ft. Lee may differ...but concept is the same. Good luck and congrats!Response by SFC Private RallyPoint Member made Feb 9 at 2021 8:10 PM2021-02-09T20:10:48-05:002021-02-09T20:10:48-05:00SFC Private RallyPoint Member6734956

Be prepared to be overwhelmed at first, they will overload you with assignments and attempt to apply stress. Just breathe, work in study groups, take one thing on at a time and you will do great.
