What can make me ineligible for re-enlistment and reclassifying?

I recently fail a pt test. My te enlistment window is now. Although I’m sure I can pass the next pt test i am flagged and I’m worried that I won’t be able to re enlist and the class. Also no one know when our next or test will be so any know if I’m SOL or is it, “ not a big deal?”

As I see you're already at your duty station, you said that you're flagged. Did your unit do the packet putting you into ABCP?
The packet should explain to you your flag, the regulation and plan of action.

You failed a PT test. At that point you are flagged and that means absolutely no positive actions can be taken with you until it is lifted. That means no leave, no promotions, no awards, no schools, not even a board. Until is it lifted you cannot re-enlist and you most definitely will not be attending a class.

You are a private. That means that unless you just recently got busted down, that you are fairly new to the military and should be in prime shape and there should be NO reason short of injury to fail one PT test, let alone a second. You need to get yourself squared away ASAP or you will be out on the street looking for a job.

Of you are flagged, you are not eligible to reenlist. You must have passed your most recent APFT and it must be within 9 months.

You should be able to ask for a retest. If it is inside the window you may have to sign a waiver. Anyway, speak with your 1SG. Thank you for your service.

Right now, stop worrying about reenlisting and/or re-classing and focus on passing your PT test. I'm sure you felt like you would be able to pass the PT test you failed as well, so don't be a bump on a log and prepare yourself for the next one. Once you get that squared away, then you have to get promoted to PFC before you can reenlist. Focus on those steps that will get you to be eligible to re-enlist.

As long as pass your pt test and you have more than 90 days it'll be easy. The flag doesn't follow you as long as you over come it.
Ps your unit has 90 days to give a second pt test. After 90 days of you fail again they can't chapter you. Just like everyone else said you can waive you 90 day grace period but if you fail you can be immediately processed for a chapter. Reference Fm 7-22 for army

In the past units handled issues like this with temporary extensions (like one year) to enlistments. So the soldier could go through the fitness program, retest in 90 days, and hopefully pass. I would suggest that you speak with your First Sergeant and get it figured out ASAP. PT test failure happens sometimes, even to good soldiers. A one-time failure should not keep you from reenlisting, as long as you pass your retest.

Update. Turns out I wasn’t exactly failing my pt test the first 6 months in my unit . But passing with the minimum score. And I was told that the minimum isn’t passing that infantryman exceed the standard, or something like that. Found that out once I passed with a “ respectable “ score. I’m a way I’m thankful.
