While I have limited experience with the Air Force I am guessing they have a similar automatic promotion time line. If it wasn’t in the contract then he’s SOL. Those credits be of use towards his CCAF but not really anything else. Those included number of college credits and length of enlistment. So theoretically he could have earned Airman (E2), upon successful completion of BMT. That is, IF that program or provision in the AFI covering enlistments is still in effect. As I told my own children before they entered military service, if it&#39;s not in writting anywhere in the contract, then it was never promised. Like others have already said, it was part of the initial contract. I was paid as an E2 throughout Basic, but I didn&#39;t wear the rank until the last few days (as we were all equally worthless). <br />If it wasn&#39;t in his initial contract, I don&#39;t think he can backpedal now. Putting on E-2 once he gets to his first duty station should happen pretty quick.
