I am looking for stories like......My parents surprised me with.....or my Grandparents passed an amazing.........or I saved every penny while working in High School to purchase......those kinds of stories. I know that with the wealth of people that we have on RP there should be some good stories out there?

My current baby, that I will be buried in, is my 1978 Lotus Esprit S2.
I bought It, in not the best of shape, about 14 tears ago for $5700. I recently had it professionally valued at $30K. I removed the emissions crap, installed twin side draft Dellortos and a Jet-hot coated header and custom exhaust and brought the engine up to Euro specs. Its 4 Cylinder slant four 2L is probably generating 180+HP in a 1990 Lb. car. I successfully raced it for two seasons in Time Trials until it dawned on me that the entire car was made of unobtainium, and retired it to car shows as a race themed show car. It is still a daily driver. A couple years ago a pick up backed over the front of it. I put the $14K insurance check back into it and redid the interior in a carbon fiber themed look, stripped and repainted the entire car, and re-did the engine bay in light weight aluminum diamond plate.
It's 44" tall, drives like a Go-kart and has caused accidents by other drivers watching it.

Great question. I have two which I still have. The first one is my Ford F-150 truck I purchased in late 2002 upon my return to the States from my three year tour in Okinawa. I spent over three months, off and on, doing research on vehicles so I would be better prepared to make a purchase. My truck has been a great vehicle for me over the years and she still has a lot left in her. 140K miles and still going. My second is my 2006 Harley Davidson 883C bike, which I have posted a pic somewhere on RP. I bought my bike and started to learn how to ride immediately. Ever since then, I have always loved to get on the bike and ride around. It's so comforting and relaxing to feel the air rushing around me, as well as seeing and appreciating the environment in a less restricted venue.
