A threat is a threat. I think a visit from the secret service would do her well. I am not too concerned about her doing anything but she certainly could incite one of her many unstable fans with this sort of rhetoric.

She needs a short conversation with the FBI and DHS to emphasize how serious such ramblings are taken. No joking in the airport or you will be hauled off. No joking like that on public media or you risk being hauled off. The feds probably recognize her for what she is a harmless washed-up entertainer of mediocre talent.

You know, I remember when I left MEPS for Boot camp in 1989, and they briefed us on why we do not say Bomb on a plan. I bring this up because as I remember signing a document saying you could face up to five years in Jail and a $100,000 fine. So if that is an act of terrorism than threatening to blow the white house up, is definitely provoking thought to do so.

Well from a serious perspective............can't see Madonna pulling off the threat. However I can see one of her screwed up in the head followers being encouraged by the statement and attempting something. In my view some of these media outlets need to be hit by the FCC with fines just for allowing the on air vulgarity without bleeping it out.

BTW, looking forwards to your next movie. Ha-ha-ha.

As an adult, one should be held accountable for their actions...notice I didn't say anything about if the adult was Joe Blow, or Joe Singer, or Joe Movie Star, everyone held accountable EQUALLY. She publically made a threat, she may be a has been (given), but one of her fans may take it to task. She still communicated the threat- no do overs, no take backs.

It used to be that people would actually consider context as having some relevance. Unless you think that Madonna was actually serious about blowing up the White House, then it wasn't really a threat.

And to all of you lauding the Secret Service for investigation, I would rather somebody actually investigate the Secret Service's track record in putting Presidential security above all else, including Constitutional rights. How comfortable are you with an agency that, at least in the past, practiced preventative detention during Presidential trips, having everybody it deemed to have threatened the President detained in police custody for the duration of a Presidential visit. The bar for what they define as a threat is very, very low -- when I was at Cal Poly, they investigated a student whose art work included in a display in the library included a photo of then-President Reagan with a set of cross-hairs and a splash of red superimposed over the photo.

Hi, SPC King.

A lot of famous people are saying a lot of things today regarding President Trump taking office. I can’t say I would take any of them seriously. No one that said they were moving to Canada have actually moved to Canada yet.

However, no one in the Islamic State has committed an act of terrorism in the US, either. They incite others to do it on their behalf with their propaganda, and take responsibility for the action after the fact.

Is Madonna serious? I doubt it, any more serious than Miley Cyrus was about running north. Is that to say that the Secret Service should not investigate? No. At the very least, charge her with inciting violence, whether a violent act is committed or not.

Context of the statement might give support to it being a facetious statement, idiotic, inappropriate and foolish,,, but still facetious.
Had she said it with an angry tone, speaking to BLM, holding a copy of "The Anarchist Cook Book" in one hand, and a length of Det cord in the other...well., then yes I suppose what she said would be considered a threat.
