I really liked this movie. It is a great tribute to the human spirit while bringing to light racial problems.

The film showed far more racism and sexism than the women actually faced which is really saying something considering the time period.

The IMDB link I shared here says that further explains that many of the white semi-antagonists were simply dismissive of blacks' issue. My response to that is that with the mindset of "for or against", they were both against. V. Michelle came around on her own. Stafford was a pain the whole time, though that seems to be his personality in general.
