What did they miss with the new AR 670-1?

There's a lot of discussions right now talking about the changes to AR 670-1, but I want to change it up just a bit. What do you think, according to what we know so far, did they fail to address or you wish they would have added/removed?<div><br></div><div>For me, it has to be the black beret. I know we got a small "victory" a few years ago when it was stated that the patrol cap would be the everyday headgear and that the beret would be reserved for special occasions. I honestly wish they would have just done away with it for good. Save the berets for the Airborne units, SF, and Rangers like it should be.</div>

<p>SFC W.,</p><p><br></p><p>To be honest, the whole proposed document is just more political propaganda that will continue to be a non-effective regulation, the current version fails to be enforced and complained about by junior and senior NCOs for various reasons that to me is a major part of the problem, if you don't enforce the standards as written and come up with excuses or reasons for not doing it, you are just as much a part of the problem as you claim the Soldiers and the regulation is. Until you are willing to enforce it to the letter as it states and not be more concerned about someone complaining about you enforcing it, then it will never get any better, no matter what or how many changes or needed changes are put in place, point blank.</p>

I love wearing hats! Civilian hats in the summer or winter, for formal daytime wear or just running around hats. I've gotten used to all the various military headgear but the beret is the worst item I've ever worn. It never looks good and what kind of hat requires you to shave & shape it? Really, I spent more time trying to fix that darned thing than I did on my hair. It looks awful with the blues and when I'm in a joint military formation and everyone else has a proper hat while we have a floppy soppy beret, well ... it's embarrassing.

A few Soldiers look good in it but in general most everyone looks plain ridiculous.
