What do gas prices look like near you?

I was just home on leave near Buffalo, NY and gas was a whopping $2.85/gallon. Was glad to get back to campbell where it's $1.91/gallon. Just out of curiosity, what are the prices near you? Why do you think there is such disparity?

The lowest gas price around here (my neighborhood, a suburb of Baltimore, MD) is $2.13. Generally it's under $2.20, but not below $2.10 (not yet). The prices do fluctuate by region. My experience has matched yours: Higher prices in the north; lower prices in the south.

SGT I'm at fort drum and we all know it's cold I think gas is at 2.95 but I only use the expensive which is at 3.16 as of this morning when I filled up my car.

prices dropped 14 cents a gallon and are at a manageable $3.59 for diesel. Including a link to the fuels prices Europe:

$1.89/gallon on Fort Leonard Wood, MO. This is nice when it translates into $50 for a full tank rather than $100. Reasons for disparity may include:
- Local competition or lack thereof. More competition means lower prices generally. I assume this is a minor consideration.
- State and local tax differences. NY has notoriously high taxes whereas TN and KY are not known for being as bad as NY. Not sure what this translates into cost per gallon but I assume this is huge.
- Cost of getting fuel to Buffalo vs Fort Campbell. Just a guess. Most fuel refining is done in LA in the US. Easier/cheaper to ship via barge up the Mississippi and Tennesse Rivers to Campbell than it is to move via truck to Buffalo.

around $2.20 here in augusta ga area but i usually get my gas at Sams club which is always way cheaper. I think it was like around $1.97. I have an app on my phone that allows me to see gas prices in the area it's called gasprices
