What do I need to do to increase my promotion points for E-6?

I max out my correspond courses or and weapons and like 3 residents courses and no college just college credit. What can I use or class to beef up my promotion points? I have 320 so far.

What is your APFT and weapons scores? How much college credit do you have? CLEP tests for credit? Otherwise......enroll and get that degree to boost your civilian ed scores. Start volunteering to stand out above everyone else and see if more awards come your way. What about Military Education?

Go and pull your 3355 and take a look at it. Find what areas have room for more points and do what you need to do to get them. Max your PT test, do military and civ ed.

Take college courses on your off time
ask see you. Can take miltaryschools I took 34 schools while I was stationed at Ft Lewis Washington. Is 320 points before the board?

First, max out your civilian education. That doesn't have to be brick-and-mortar classroom. Look into taking CLEP exams. I had infantry soldiers in Germany going before the promotion board with Intro Psychology (read one book to get the jargon... guaranteed pass) on their records.

Another off-the-beaten-path method for college credits? FEMA Emergency Management Institute has independent study courses that you can get college credit for through Frederick Community College. (Courses are free but $82 per credit to put on a transcript)... https://em-study.com/emsfema/

Even if the credits don't appear to fit into a degree plan, don't overlook them. You never know what door might open.

Become a trained professional in your Specialty and volunteer for any schools with special skills your unit might need, be the NCO that everyone up and down the chain comes to with questions. Work on PT by leading, get extra reps on the range by working on it, do your job and more. THE POINTS WILL COME.

As everyone has said already College is the best way, but I know the range is a big factor as well. Once you get above 35 out of 40 hits each round is equivalent to about 8 promotion points
