What do I need to talk with my recruiter about to see if my wife and kids can be moved to live with me after boot camp?

I'm enlisting into the military under the 25s mos, I'm just waiting to swear in, I've done everything but that at this point, I'm married and wanted to know what I need to talk with my recruiter about to see if my wife and kids can be moved there with me after boot camp?

PVT Private RallyPoint Member there is a regulation that states how long a school is , makes it a Permanent Change of Station PCS move, but TRADOC policy determines when your family may join. Your recruiter has the info or can find out. You need to tell the recruiter what your situation is so they can advise you. Recommend calling or emailing this question. If something needs to be done at MEPS like issuing family orders, the recruiter can facilitate.

Even if your AIT is 26 weeks or longer, you will get very little time for a home life cause you are still a trainee.

25S is an 18 week AIT, you aren't authorized to move your family to the training location, and if you do, you won't be authorized to stay with them. You can move them once you get orders to your first duty assignment

There is absolutely nothing your recruiter can do to get your family authorized at your training location. Family member are not authorized unless the school is 180 days or longer.

If you choose to have them come anyway, you won’t be able to stay with them, you won’t be able to go anywhere with them, the additional money you will be spending will be out of pocket and it will be difficult to find any place in Georgia that has a short lease for rentals. Any kind of appointments, getting situated as a family will all be done without you because you’re still in training.

Once all of your training is complete you will be authorized at government expense to have your family at your duty location.

You won't.
Your family will be allowed to join you when you go to your first duty station.
Hypothetically you could move them at your own expense to the AIT location (Ft Gordon?), but I would advise against disrupting them for the limited amount of time you'll be able to see them.

Your recruiter is going to have zero to do with moving your wife/kids. Whether or not you are authorized has everything to do with the length of your AIT. Chances are about 99.9% they will not be sponsored to move until you arrive at your first duty station.

When you get to Fort Gordon bring it up with your cadre as soon as possible, they will be put up on post housing while you still have to live in the barracks, depending on your commander when you “phase up” to “5+” you may have the option to live with them for the remaining time you have there. Several people I knew did this. But it’s all gonna be done when you get Fort Gordon, just do it ASAP
