I know most guys in my field (IT/InfoSec) do just that as their civilian job... But what do you do as your civilian job? What do USAR/ARNG pilots do as a civilian? 2016-03-03T00:35:57-05:00 SPC(P) Private RallyPoint Member 1349549 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Random question, but it's been something I've been meaning to ask... Plenty of those guys around , and all prior service. its real expensive to get your ratings and hours in helicopters ( military is the cheapest route for these guys)<br /><br />Anyhow I am not a military pilot , but I do have over 3000+ flying hours ;) Response by CPT Enrique M. made Mar 3 at 2016 10:20 AM 2016-03-03T10:20:29-05:00 2016-03-03T10:20:29-05:00 SPC David S. 1350430 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I know a couple - ones a lawyer, ones a test pilot for NASA and ones a commercial pilot (He's retired now from the Navy but still flies commercial). Most of the M-Day aviators in my state are policemen, engineers or sales/customer service reps in the defense industry. Bottom line answer though is, "whatever they want to be." One of the greatest parts I find of being in the ARNG after starting on AD is the depth of skill sets that ARNG Soldiers bring to the unit from their civilian occupations!
