The thing I admire most in this Country is that we are still free to seek out our own destiny for better or worse. I hate when people confuse equal opportunity with equal results. I grew up in the bad neighborhoods with the 7 locks on my door. I graduated top of my class. I put myself through college. I even became a Marine when no one believed I had what it takes. So it bothers the hell out of me when I get told I'm only successful because I'm a white male because it takes away from all the hard work and effort my family and I put in to be successful.

My skin color didn't get me out of the bad neighborhood. My single mom working 2 jobs with lots of overtime got us out. I wouldn't call helping raise my brothers while my mom works "white privilege".

That's what I love about this Country. Ultimately, we are all responsible for our own successes and failures. Isn't that part of the American Dream. To go out and seek your fortune. To be successful in your own way.

You are a very brave man, Corporal. Cpl Justin Goolsby
I am highly impressed with you.
Congratulations, Justin!
I am so very sorry about the tough-very tough time-you had. People believing that you are privileged because you are white, are being very unfair to you.
And may God bless your Mom.
That indeed, is part of the wonderful American Dream.
Respectfully Yours, Margaret

Thank you. I appreciate your words. I can't count the amount of arguments I've had with people who think because of my skin color I don't know what a poor upbringing is like. It's amusing to me how much division is happening in this Country because people think the deck is stacked against them instead of playing the cards they've been dealt and knowing the difference between when to hold and when to fold.

You've made it, Marine. Cpl Justin Goolsby, I would stop arguing with those people; and simply walk away. You don't have to take that.
God and you know the truth about the matter.
You, Justin, are rare. You have made it against All odds.
I'm very proud of you.
-All My Best, Margaret

I agree 100%, Colonel. COL Lee Flemming
I love people, be they: white, black, red, yellow.... (I pray, Sir, that I got the colors of the different races correctly. Please forgive me, one and all- if I did not.
I think that we all work together; as one. Sure, there are discrepancies- but there are in every country.
-With My Kindest Regards, Sir- Margaret

I absolutely agree, SrA Chris "Shadow" McGee. I think that it is super terrific, that we come together as a country to help one another in times of need.
HAVE a fabulous day, Margaret
