What do you do when you try and do your job and create teamwork but no one takes you seriously?

Are we talking a team of soldiers? If so, put on your big boy pants and take charge.

Have a meeting and tactfully explain what you feel is the problem and ask for suggestions to improve teamwork and morale. By adding them into the decision making to solve the issue at hand, I have found most people will get actively engaged in the discussion and this in itself will start the foundation of building the team. Worst case scenario, get another team.

This guy is a piece of $&@$ if he worries that the JROTC program "makes it seem like the military is a good option". The education system across the United States is failing,and he's worried that those receiving leadership training and mentorship will choose options the may fit there life best beyond high school. I bet he is a supporter of free Junior College for all as well. "Let's continue to take, without giving" is his motto.
