What do you do with new staff?

You have a new staff member. 
They just had a successful command but aren’t blending well with the old
established staff.  Some even call his
comments inappropriate although not disrespectful or degrading.  As a new Field Grade officer you want to look
good but realize that to spite his stellar qualifications this young office
could get you a black eye from the CP police or worse a call from HR.
