It wrecked my life, my marriage, my ability to interact with my children, everything! It took YEARS to get back on my feet and learn how to LIVE! I deal with it every day; but now know how to keep it in perspective. Response by SSgt Dale Wysinger made Jun 21 at 2020 4:16 PM 2020-06-21T16:16:34-04:00 2020-06-21T16:16:34-04:00 CW2 Jalistair B 6030873

Probably not going to be real popular on this thread but for the most part I think PTSD is abused. There are some clear cases of PTSD but most of the people I run into who "suffer" from PTSD never left the FOB, never saw combat (other than a few inbound rockets) leading me to think they either worked themselves into a frenzy (meaning they have a different problem than PTSD) or they simply are lying about it. Why lie? Well you can always attempt to get a larger VA disability check and whenever you have a failure in life you always have the "PTSD" that you can blame disavowing you of all responsibility of your failure. The abusers are ruining my perception and that of others towards everyone claiming PTSD to include those who have the real deal.

That's my rant, I'll get off my soapbox now.
