What do you prefer to see when watching instrumental music videos on YouTube?

I've done all these both but not enough to see if there's a major preference. From what I've seen it doesn't matter at all or depends on the genre. My one house music video has a lot of YouTube plays and that same track on Soundcloud is my second most popular track.

For instrumental music, I prefer some sort of visualization, with the artist and song info displayed at some point.

Any preference on type of visualization? I assume you're talking about audio spectrum stuff - bars, waves, etc..

SGT (Join to see) Those are nice, but I also like it when the visualization gives form to the music. The best example I can think of is in Fantasia when they are doing Igor Stravinsky's "Rite of Spring" and some of the segments of Bach's "Toccata and Fugue".

If it's a concert recording I like the video side especially if it was a live recording. If it's something like what Antti Martikainen comes up with then still images work for me. Personally I'm not that fussy because it's all about the music I hear.

Choir Report: CANTATE@Sing'n'Joy Vienna 2012
CANTATE from Hungary at the Grand Prize Competition of the 28th Franz Schubert Choir Competition. "Lux aeterna" by Morten Lauridsen Conductor: Ferenc Sapszon...
Some examples. This choir concert I saw live. The one con I do have about live recordings is they typically don't do justice to hearing live in person. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oS55DYJ5h4c
