To what purpose? If there is a sound medical reason and if the parents have the information to give informed consent then it may be acceptable. Until those conditions exist I'd have to say no.

Under current law, they'd need a warrant. I see no reason to change that. Screw that. Big Gov. already has enough info that we never wanted to give them.

Medically, our DNA can provide a 'roadmap' to wellness from illness, i.e., donor matching. Childhood cancers may also become easier to treat if one knows which genes are expressing/not expressing. It can also identify deadbeat 'baby daddy's' who are not living up to their responsibilities to their children and their mothers.

MAJ David Vermillion Too much potential for misuse, just on the face of the issue. Who owns the data? Who has access to the data? What use will be made of the derived information and under what conditions? Guess my answer is "not a good idea".
