Nothing compares to interacting with a real-life person or a pet for that matter whether service dog, cat etc. You cannot replace the personal connections (I understand that does not always happen when seeing counselors). But what about the other end of this? Who would fund the stock pile of these things, the maintenance staff for them and the customer support staff for them? The VA? The already tightly budgeted DOD? I assume cost to patient would be covered but if not, would Tricare or the VA even entertain a claim for one? and possibly throw in a copay for it too? I do not see anything that would make this worth while. Maybe I'm just on the glass half empty team for this one.
