In the 1990's I got a chance to go to the US Archives, at the time there WWII documents on display. One was there, and if you didn't look closely , and were not a student of history, you would of never known the significance of the what you were reading. It was the backside of a simple white envelope, it was scribbled on it with a confession of a Private Eddie Slovack, the last American executed for desertion. Among a great many document and images, was simple document of a confession of a soldier who terrified to go back into battle, and paid the ultimate price for it. It stuck with me that this document was not marked (non of them were) but you had to have a little insight to know who he was, the significance that his confession would lie with so many other famous documents in the main room of the National Archives so many years later. I personally saw with my own two eyes the jet fly into the first tower. I was sitting in science class in my HS in Jersey City, but had a perfect view of the towers and NYC. I was daydream and saw what I though was a missile.

I lost two family friends in that incident.
