What do you think of ANG 13BX getting Wings upon graduation from UABMT?

I was just curious if anyone had any news on the progress being made by our ANG CRC bros to be awarded wings upon graduation of UABMT instead of the Weapons Director badge. Also wanted to see what most people think about this possible change. Thanks!

We are facing problems at our unit (a TACP unit) because of this. In AD units, a 13B can serve as an ALO.....but, because they don't "have their wings", they can't serve in that same capacity in a guard unit, where their service would arguably be more valuable.

They attend the same school, they should leave that school with the same credentials. End of story.

I'm at NGB and my boss and I (mostly him) have been very engaged on that issue. He briefed it to the HAF A3 a few months ago with no decision. He is looking to continue the effort by briefing the new HAF A3 as soon as possible. It's the right thing to do for many reasons.

So, as retired G1796 and 1741 through 1716, who is getting what badge now? Have they made the career field interchangeable, or is there still a airborne and a ground career track? I wore Officer Non-rated Aircrew Wings and a Air Weapons Controller badge with star and wreath having served in both capacities.
