What do you think of bringing back tv shows like Magnum PI vs airing new original shows?

Ok, watching 60 Minutes and saw ad for Magnum PI show coming this fall. Can't tv producers come up with new original ideas anymore? Sure Magnum PI was a great show but come on, have we become so dumb-downed that we can't produce original shows that aren't reality or sequels?

@LT COL JOHN Lt Col John (Jack) Christensen If no one will watch the current trash on TV, of course they will piggyback on earlier successes. I simply record re-runs of the original shows from the 1960s/70s and enjoy them again!

The originals are far better, the remakes are a cheap imitation.

I kinda like some of them. I was really skeptical of Hawaii Five O but it turned out to be a great show and we watch it every week. Have to see Magnum PI to judge but I think enough time has passed from the originals that remakes will be ok.
