What do you think of SPC Garrison's lies, were they PTSD caused or what?

This soldier's years of lies have finally come to light. He's been honored many times and yet still fails to do the honorable thing. In some ways I feel sorry for the guy and maybe with the VA found personality disorders he's got, he really believed what he said. But now he admits he lied and has yet to set the record straight with the family of SGT Wilson.

I'm sure that PTSD can make you do some weird things. There is plenty of evidence in the news all the time. Maybe Black Out and Replace Memories, That is well within the realm of Possibility. One of my Favorite Cartoon/Movies is "Waltz With Bashir" about how Israeli Soldiers from the war with Lebanon dealt with their PTSD and sometimes recreated "False Memories" to block the Horror.

SGM Mikel Dawson SPC Garrison may have well been the victim of an undiagnosed mental disorder that he had before joining the Military. It is equally possible that PTSD exacerbated that condition. While his actions are reprehensible, if he were going through life with this sickness, unmedicated, then he might well NOT have been in total control of his thoughts, and actions.

I think he is a sick manipulator and I am disgusted that he used the death of a hero to seek pity for himself....I wonder how his own parent feel?

I don't know the guy and obviously he has some mental issues, but to tell the mother of a fallen Soldier that you were holding him when he died? That is inexcusable and he should man up and apologize to her at least! Disgusting jerk...

Having PTSD myself, I really don't understand his justification for his actions. One would have to question Garrison's word on everything he has said, ever. I certainly would not trust the man now, and I'm upset that he has taken advantage of a fallen soldier and his deployment to gain public trust obtaining a free house and such.
