With the cancellation of most retraining, DOS rollbacks, TERA, Quality Force Review Boards and Enlisted Retention Boards.  Which do you like and which don't you like?  Why?

By now, I believe they are seeing an overwhelming response of vols to get out. But, with retention boards, I honestly can't say how well it will work. Of course you have your coded individuals whom will be forced out.  But, most of the packages going up are going to be the inflated firewall 5s and be even across the board. I have only been in for 5 years, but in that time frame only know of 3 or 4 out of the 100's, that I have met, that have less than a 4 rating on EPRs. Of course, a lot of those 5s are not deserved and a few of the 4s were because of a PT test failure (In which those individuals will be coded). The ones who received 3s were not referral, but have since received 5s on all subsequent evaluations and qualify for 25% extra for vol separation... For our particular AFSC, last I saw, we are closed out on all ranks except SrA and MSgt.  Which is dwindling every time a new list comes out. So, I think the AF did their job and forced the ones (that really didn't want to be here) out already, which is what I was hoping would happen. Now the ones that want to be here should be more motivated to better the force as a whole. As far as what is left for the retention boards, I am just glad that it's Brass and Chiefs, cause a lot of what is going through is going to look a lot alike.

I think they all suck to be plain and to the point for every service out there involved, the entire DOD is hurting right now.

All I can say is good luck and hope you can continue forward and also hope the coming changes can be reversed in the next few years.
