I used it when I transitioned. As stated it is your active duty points that will get you the E status. I am an O-3E for my prior service when I was enlisted. You need four years of active service. Four reserve years will not qualify you.

https://recruiting.army.mil/Portals/15/DA%201506.pdf?ver=2019-02-14-150356-400

More specifically, you must have a minimum of 4 Active years to qualify for E-grades. Reserve years and Active years do not equate on a 1/1 ratio.

DoD Financial Management Regulation Volume 7A, Chapter 1

Creditable Prior Enlisted Service.
Commissioned officers in pay grades O-1, O-2, or O-3 who are credited with over 4 years (i.e., at least 4 years and 1 day) of prior active service as an enlisted member are entitled to the special rate of basic pay for pay grade O-1E, O-2E, or O-3E.Response by SFC Michael Hasbun made Mar 2 at 2021 1:27 PM2021-03-02T13:27:35-05:002021-03-02T13:27:35-05:00CAPT Kevin B.6793557

Eric and others are correct in that the "active" days on your ARPR count. No drill, IDT, correspondence, service academy, ROTC, etc. counts. See you're targeting 1461, which would be correct. It wasn't always the case in hitting 1461. In my day, hitting the "4 good year" mark of reserve affiliation was enough. I had about 2 1/2 years of active total at that stage. Now that didn't stop the S-1 from mucking up the entry paperwork and having to get a BCNR to correct the error. It also didn't stop the next S-1 from refusing to cut a check because "No LTJG should have that money at once." Think that was my one and only CO's Request Mast in my career. Had the check the next day. Almost as much fun as a Federal Arrest Warrant on me for refusing to report after I pulled a Draft Number of 2. Happened to be on a tin can off 'Nam at the time. Wish I had a recording of my Mom sending the Marshals packing. You buy a ticket for the show when she'd go into MOM MODE.Response by CAPT Kevin B. made Mar 4 at 2021 12:11 AM2021-03-04T00:11:45-05:002021-03-04T00:11:45-05:002021-03-02T08:46:53-05:00
