What documents would someone need in order to sign a contract, without an early release, to transition into another branch?

Has anyone done a service transfer but still finished out their current commitment? I’m wanting to do Air Force to Army without ending my contract early but still not having a break in service. Currently waiting for my Commander to sign my DD 368?

DD 368 - conditional release form. It’ll need a recruiters signature and needs to go up for approval in order to be released. I recommend that you start speaking to a recruiter and seeing what MOSs are available

Then that's not an interservice transfer and it doesn't require a conditional release. That's just a normal ETS and a well planned switch. You'll almost definitely have a break unless you took a bunch of transition leave because the Army won't be able to process you fully without your DD214.

A DD214. The conditional release is for RC to AD transitions.

I did a switch from the Army Guard to the Air Guard - I was discharge by the Army on March 22 and enlisted in the Air Force on March 23 - no break in service and my AR contract was for the remaining time from my Army contract. I had to go through the process of getting a release approved and finding a slot in the Air Guard that wanted me - so the process took about 7 months total.
