As the name implies, BSBs support the brigade. This is where the brigade’s main medical, maintenance, fuel and transportation companies sit. Typical, elements of all of these companies are embedded with the line units. My experience is mostly with the medical side of BSBs.

Maybe if you clarify a bit more others can know how to answer your question more throughly. They'd provide technical expertise. We occasionally helped run AHAs. If I remember right, our ASP had an adjacent AHA that units would draw and then put their munitions in while doing ranges, live fires etc.

We got down range 2008-2009, they ran an AHA that eventually grew into an ASP. It was at that exact moment that peace time accountability was placed on OEF units. We spent the deployment accounting for things and retrograding dunnage, retrograding useless items, and chasing consumption reports as each company Commander had an OPerational Load on the their property book.

Some Divisions may elect to consolidate 89As at the ASP. The Sustainment Brigades had a supervisory relationship via the SPO/DMRC (if so organized) because the CSSB Ammunition Company is a subordinate unit and usually had a Mag Platoon running the ASP while the rest of the unit supported missions.
