I don’t have the reg right in front of me. The unfortunate thing about 670-1 and many other regs is that much of it is open to commander’s interpretation and/or discretion.

If someone is telling don't wear it. Probably shouldn't wear it. Sometimes it may not be in a regulation but just commanders decision. Especially with the fleece jacket in the field. Fleece jacket isn't flame resistant. Standing near the exhaust of anything will almost surely melt it. So, just assumptions here. Someone got in your A** about it and you are now butt hurt. Welcome to the Army.

PFC, these senior folks commenting are trying to make you self-reliant to be a better Soldier by directing you to the reg.

But, going forward (and for a better overall Army experience,) if the commander tells you that something is/isn't authorized, then that's the same as God telling you that something is/isn't authorized.

If you know it is AR 670-1, why did you bother to ask here? Open up the reg and research it.
