This very small area of land will not receive U.S. recognition. If you recognize a country that has split from an ally then you are insulting their sovereignty. If you recognize a country that has split from a competitor then you are recognizing a portion of their sovereign nation is up for grabs and that makes for retaliation. We still do not recognize that Crimea is sovereign or part of Russia.
