What does "Living Honorably" mean to you?

To me it means choosing the hard right, over the easy wrong in life. To work for what you earn and earn what you work for. Don't go though life expecting a hand out and don't be above giving a hand up.

"Living honorably" encompasses so much that it is hard to tie it all together in one nice, neat package. However, I had a SQDN CSM a while back who always said that "you need to do the right thing all the time no matter if anyone is looking over your shoulder." I believe by doing the right thing all the time, I live honorably.

Doing the right thing, for the right reasons at the right time always. Never backing down from standing up for what you believe in, even if its not popular or people dont support you.

Once I saw that quote and realized how true it was. When you become an officer your going to have soldiers salute you simply because they see that you're an officer but if you want your soldiers to respect you then you're going to have to give them a good reason to.

When I am asked to give troops a safety brief I keep it very simple and it goes like this. "Don't do anything that is illegal, illmoral, unethical, or anything to that will disgrace your family name or uniform." I truly believe in that statement and do everything in my power live by that every day. That is what I consider "Living Honorably."
