What does pending review for initial decision for veteran mean?

About four to six weeks. LOL. It's in the initial review process. God only knows how quick you'll get a response.

It all depends on what type of Discharge that's on you DD214 says and that could be the reason why it's pending and how long that takes is any ones guess.

The first thing is that you can't necessarily trust the status in eBenefits or vets.gov. Pending review for initial decision means that a decision has been made, but it needs to be reviewed by the VSO (AL, VFW, DAV, State Agency, etc.) you appointed to represent you. If it has been that long, generally the VSO did not agree with something and it went back to a work queue.
