Even though I am a Veteran, I think it is more important to thank the older vets. They are the ones who didn't get thanked properly when they came home. And we are losing older veterans rapidly.

SSgt John Axtell II Veteran's Day is a day to share stories and experiences with other Veterans. I will attend a ceremony and parade to do just that. Never far from my mind are the sacrifices made by my father and my fellow brothers and sisters in arms.

Veterans Day to me means the opportunity to meet others who have shared the same passion, mission, experience to serve this country. The opportunity to share their times while in the military and to also see how much they have grown since being (or currently in) the military.

Veterans day is for us to recognize each other. I was just at a Veterans day parade and met retired SF, pilots, medics, etc. It is always heartwarming to meet badasses. I don't have the coolest stories to tell but it is always nice to hear awesome tales from my heroes.

It means TOTAL RESPECT of those who have given their lives for our country and that same respect for those who were blessed enough to come back to their loved ones and tell us of their adventures. We are AMERICANS

to thank veterans, even not on Veterans Day, for their service, Honor the ones who didn't make it home. Support the ones who had and have trouble adjusting when they come home from a war zone.
