Getting up early in the morning, having a cup of coffee and some quiet time with God before going to the gym and hoping to get there before the squat racks are taken.

Got me thinking as my "workouts" are mostly refereeing soccer games although I'm using the gym more in between. Thinking about it, I do have a ritual. Mostly mental in reviewing who the teams are, coach attitudes, etc. and then who the crew is I'll be working with, when and where do I need to be, etc. On site, I have a ritual stretching and movement drills. Then the pregame meeting. One thing I learned is rituals give you a sense of continuity and that you're covering the bases. See everyone here does what works for them. Now where did I put that jock itch cream?

Patterns help a person worry about less, lending more energy and time to bigger tasks - physical, mental, and emotional - my opinion.

My pre workout routine is as follows: 1. Wake up. 2. Shower to loosen my hip and shoulder joints so I can move properly. 3. Start the motorcycle to let it warm up. 4. Go to the gym and work out.

You work out on an empty stomach ? I work out too intensely and am too greedy for that to work for me.
