Has anyone else noticed a recent uptick in the volume of robo sales calls? I've gone from 2-3 a week to half a dozen + per day; some coming in on hijacked contact numbers. To the best of my recollection, I haven't done any internet or cell apps that would expect skyline me.

The Registry doesn't work. I use ATT and go in and block each number that calls. Has driven it down a bit. Also, turned the answering machine to the basic automated message, with no identifiers.

The only way you can take action, is to answer and tape the conversation. When you file a complaint, they can act on it. There are ways to put in fake phone numbers, local and LD. That capability has been available for decades. The Robocalls doing this is more recent. One problem with answering is they can tape your conversation and use your voice. If I don’t recognize the number, if you don’t speak up or leave a message, your call goes unanswered.

YES, read a technical journal about the. They money even if you do not answer because of caller ID on your phone. Hiya is a free app (paid premium) that can help identify them.
