Pursuit of happiness. Like my father before me and his father before him, I serve in order to allow my son and future children to be able to live whatever dreams they want, to watch them grow up being happy and not have to worry about glass ceilings or oppressive regimes.

I'm an old school independent. I believe in carrying guns and smoking in bars. I also believe that the liberal PC crowd and the religious right are doing more to remove our freedoms than anyone in the world. Clowns to the left, jokers to the right....

The right to worship the God of my Choice, defend the Constitution, protect my family by force of arms if necessary, to carry a hand gun for protection, and finally the right to be able to tell someone who is wrong that they are wrong. These I will defend.

I was about to go on about Freedom of Speech - being able to get up on a soapbox and say that the President is a great person - or a big poopyhead - and not have to worry about being arrested and "disappeared" for having the "wrong" opinion. Sure, I may open myself up to commentary from other citizens, but that's the risk of opening my mouth in the first place.

BUT

PO1 John Crotts here has raised a good point: The Pursuit of Happiness.

Note that the Constitution does not grant "ACHIEVEMENT" of Happiness. It only allows me to fight to get some happy - and it's up to me to get it. I like that.

Free will. The ability to express one's opinion. The freedom of movement w/o one's, "papers being checked". The right to question the government w/o fear of reprisal.
